Physical activity, can not only improve your physical health and maintain your mental well-being, but is key to boosting your immune system which is so important during this time. Numerous scientific studies have proven that regular exercise can prevent multiple diseases such as obesity, heart problems, cancer and stroke. According to the National Health Service (NHS) “you should aim for at least 150 minutes of moderate-intensity activity or 75 minutes of vigorous activity a week”.

Alternatively, fundraising challenges could be a great motivator for those who do not particularly enjoy cardio workouts but want to contribute to a cause. ‘Running for Heroes’ is a fundraising campaign which encourages people to run 5 km, donate £5 and nominate five people. Climbing the stairs is a great calorie burner! Raise that heart rate without even leaving your student accommodation, simply run up and down your buildings steps.
